A woman sitting at a table with a large potted plant, smiling as she looks at an open book with patterns. The table has craft supplies including buttons and scissors. Behind her, there is a white dresser, artwork on the wall, a yellow pot with a leafy plant, and a display of crafted paper on a string.

About

Hey there! I’m Sara, a linocut block print artist based in Madison, Wisconsin. I carve rubber blocks and create patterns and scenes with them. I’m inspired by shapes and colors found in nature, and also patterns and negative space used in traditional block print techniques.

I’ve been an artist all my life, dabbling in ceramics, metalsmithing and painting. I really love using my hands to make things! The linocut printing process has stuck with me, especially making smaller designs that can be used together to create something bigger. It’s so fun to disconnect for a bit and see where a design can go.

My hope is for my prints to bring a little playful color to a spot on your wall or nestled amongst books on your shelf.

I live on the near west side of Madison with my husband and two kiddos, along with lots of plants and also some “pet” ladybugs.

Thanks so much for stopping by :)
